چکیده
Aim: To evaluate the weed control efficiencies of different mulching practices and legume intercropping in transplanted pearl millet.
Study Design: Randomized Complete Block Design (RBD).
Place Duration Study: The field trial was conducted during Rabi season 2022 at school agricultural sciences Karunya Institute technology sciences, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
 Methodology: consists 8 treatments viz., T1 - PE Atrazine 0.5kg/ ha +1 Hand Weeding 30 DAT, T2 Two 15 T3 Paddy straw 5t/ 3 T4 Black polythene T5 silver T6 Intercropping pulses (cowpea) (1:1), T7 (1:1) + Pendimethalin 0.75 kg/ ha, T8 Un weeded check.
Results: Results experiment proves that cowpea millet along with pre-emergence application pendimethalin to be beneficial advantageous terms returns per rupee invested for profitable crop production, rather than going mulches. Hence adoption millet, usage mild herbicides like pendimethalin, will an economically viable environmentally sustainable management practice improving yield millet.

Agronomic and physiological responses of pearl millet ecotype (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.) to saline irrigation
The objective of this study was to identify morphological and physiological traits for salinity tolerance in Tunisian autochthonous ZZ pearl millet ecotype (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br) under local conditions. ZZ ecotype was cultivated under different levels of salinity and growth parameters, water relations and mineral content were measured. Results showed that ZZ pearl millet ecotype was un...

Pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.) and napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach) are the most economically important species in the genus Pennisetum. Knowledge of genetic diversity of these two species would enhance their potentials for utilization. The present work assessed the genetic diversity and phylogenetic relationship among Nigerian and Indian accessions of pearl millet an...

Pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum) has potential as a grain crop for dryland crop production in the southeastern United States. Whether or not pearl millet will be compatible in rotation with cotton (Gossypium hirsutum), corn (Zea mays), and peanut (Arachis hypogaea) will depend, in part, on its host status for important plant-parasitic nematodes of these crops. The pearl millet hybrid 'TifGrain...
متن کاملOccurrence and Exposure Assessment of Aflatoxin B1 and Ochratoxin A in Pearl Millet (Pennisetum glaucum L.) from Tunisia
Background: Ochratoxin A (OTA) and Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) are toxic secondary metabolites produced by certain mold species. In this primarily survey, we examined the OTA and AFB1 contamination of pearl millet grains distributed in Tunisia. Methods: Twenty-five pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum L.) samples from different regions of Tunisia were analyzed by High Performance Liquid Chromatography co...
متن کاملEvolution of Neutral and Flowering Genes along Pearl Millet (Pennisetum glaucum) Domestication
BACKGROUND Pearl millet landraces display an important variation in their cycle duration. This diversity contributes to the stability of crop production in the Sahel despite inter-annual rainfall fluctuation. Conservation of phenological diversity is important for the future of pearl millet improvement and sustainable use. Identification of genes contributing to flowering time variation is ther...
